Turkish investors opened a tomotherapy center in Almaty city

Investors from Turkey have opened a tomotherapy center at the Kazakh Research Institute of Oncology and Radiology JSC in Almaty. The ceremonial opening of the center took place as part of an investment tour of the southern regions of Kazakhstan. At the same time, the city also laid the capsules for two more projects with the participation of Turkish business in the field of construction and production of steel structures, as well as sandwich panels.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Almas Aidarov, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Turkey Abzal Saparbekuly, Chairman of the Board of “NC “KAZAKH INVEST” JSC Meirzhan Yussupov, as well as the leadership of the city akimat and Turkish companies.

According to investors, the new medical center will use one of the most effective types of radiation therapy - tomotherapy - in the fight against cancer. The volume of investments in the project amounted to $ 6.5 million. According to the investors of the company "Orhun Medical", the planned annual capacity of the center will be about 12 thousand sessions of radiation therapy for 600 patients within the guaranteed volume of free medical care (guaranteed volume of free medical care) and 2,608 sessions of tomotherapy for 130 patients within the framework of medical tourism.

“Despite the negative consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, today the development of trade and economic, especially investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkey continues quite intensively. The growth in investment in the health sector is particularly encouraging. I am sure that the Tomotherapy center of the Orhun Medical company will make a significant contribution to the further development of the country's health care and will give an impetus to the improvement of the quality of medical services,” noted the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Turkey Abzal Saparbekuly.

In continuation of the investment tour to the southern regions, the Turkish investors of the Panelsan company laid the capsule of a new plant for the production of sandwich panels from mineral slabs in the industrial zone of Almaty. The total cost of the project is about $ 10 million. Implementation of the project will create about 65 new jobs. It should be noted that the company successfully exports its products to the Balkans, to the Middle East, as well as to twenty countries in Africa and Europe.

“Turkey is one of the important partners of Kazakhstan, and expanding cooperation is a huge opportunity for local companies. Over the past 5 years, Turkey has invested over $ 1.7 billion in the country's economy. There are about 3,500 joint ventures with Turkish capital on the territory of Kazakhstan. Every year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with the regions, accompanies more than 10 new projects in various sectors of the economy. We value our cooperation with every Turkish company and are ready to develop the potential of bilateral partnership for the benefit of our countries,” said Almas Aidarov.

The laying of the stone for the second project for the production of metal road fences also took place in the industrial zone of Almaty. The total investment in the project implemented by the Çelkonsan company amounted to about $ 3 million. The plant plans to produce more than 7 thousand tons of finished products per year.

It should be noted that these projects are being implemented with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Turkey, "NC "KAZAKH INVEST" JSC and local executive bodies.
