SEZ and IZ
The Akimat of Almaty is implementing the Industrial Zone of Almaty project. The territory provided for housing and development of the Industrial Zone of Almaty is located in the north-western part of the Alatau district on the border with the Ili and Karasay districts and is 490 hectares.
In the Industrial zone in Alatau district, 6 production sectors have been identified in accordance with the priority GPIID sectors in Almaty:
- food industry;
- engineering;
- construction industry;
- pharmaceutical industry;
- chemical industry;
- light industry.
Currently, 41 companies are residents.
The territory of the Industrial Zone is actively involved in the implementation of projects approved for placement. When reviewing and approving projects, priority is given to innovative, environmentally friendly industries and traditional industries. To date, approved
SEZ "Park of innovative technologies"
Since 2003, the special economic zone “Park of Innovative Technologies” (hereinafter - the SPZ “PIT”) has been operating in Almaty. The SEZ "PIT" positions itself as an innovative HUB, an integrated research and educational, design and manufacturing cluster. The main objective of the project SEZ "PIT" is to attract new technologies, comprehensive support and growth of new enterprises in the field of: information technology (IT); telecommunications and communications; electronics and instrumentation; renewable energy, resource conservation and efficient environmental management; the creation and use of materials for various purposes; production, transportation and processing of oil and gas
Today, 144 companies are registered in the SEZ “PIT”, of which 71 companies are directly involved in the activities of the SEZ “PIT” and 73 companies operate on the principle of extraterritoriality.
